Shopify app detector

See which apps a Shopify store runs on its storefront: reviews, email and SMS, upsells, chat, loyalty, analytics and more. Free, no extension, no sign-up.

How the app detector works

Most Shopify apps add scripts, widgets or theme app extensions to the storefront. The detector loads the store's public homepage and looks for two kinds of evidence:

  • Known app signatures: script and asset domains of popular apps, such as Judge.me, Klaviyo, Yotpo, Gorgias, Recharge and Rebuy.
  • Theme app extensions: assets served from cdn.shopify.com/extensions/…, which carry the app's handle even for apps that aren't in our list.

It covers more than 45 widely used apps and tags across reviews, email and SMS, chat, subscriptions, loyalty, upsells, page builders, search, translation, payments, analytics and ad pixels.

What it can't see

Detection is based on the homepage only, so be aware of its limits:

  • Apps that only load on product, cart or checkout pages may not appear.
  • Back-office apps (inventory, accounting, fulfilment) leave no trace on the storefront.
  • Apps loaded through a tag manager after consent may be invisible until a visitor accepts cookies.

Treat the result as “apps we can prove are running on the storefront”, not as a complete list.

How to check a store's apps manually

Open the page source (Ctrl+U or Cmd+Option+U) and search for cdn.shopify.com/extensions. Each match includes the app handle. Then search for vendor domains such as klaviyo, judge.me or yotpo. In the browser's Network tab, filter by JS to see every third-party script.

Use it for competitor research

Knowing a competitor's reviews, upsell and email stack tells you how they convert. Pair it with their catalog: the Shopify scraper exports prices, variants and images to CSV, with a free 25-product preview. To see their design base, run the Shopify theme detector.

Frequently asked questions

How can I see what apps a Shopify store is using?

Paste the store URL into the detector above. It lists the apps whose scripts or theme app extensions load on the public homepage.

Do I need a Chrome extension to detect Shopify apps?

No. This detector runs on the web. Extensions read the same public page data, but they need installing and access to your browsing.

Why is an app I know the store uses not detected?

It may only load on other pages (product, cart, checkout), run in the back office, or wait for cookie consent. Detection only covers what loads on the public homepage.
